These sweet little scoops measure exactly a tablespoon. The walnut is especially dark and shimmery, the maple streaky and intricate. The colourful streaking patterns in ambrosia maple are the marks of ambrosia beetles, who have a symbiotic relationship with fungi. They dig tunnels into dying trees and use them as the growing medium for cultivating fungal gardens. After they have harvested their crop and moved on to other trees, the marks and furrows in their abandoned fields remain. Amazing!
Spoons are approximately 7" long, bowl volume is 1 tablespoon.
